Length of Zulfah and tying it

Question: 

With regards to men's hair, what lengths can a male keep his hair and if he has a zulfa can he tie it in pony tail or plait it. Is it permissible for men to dye their hair, if so, what colors are permitted? 


Answer: 

Concerning the lengths in Zulfa. There are three different lengths in Zulfa.

1. Wafrah - the hair in line with the earlobes

2. Limmah - the hair reaching between the earlobes and the shoulders.

Women trimming hair on neck

Question: 

Are woman allowed to clean up the edges of her hair on her nape and neck? (Please note, not asking about woman cutting her normal hair)


Answer: 

It will be permissible to clean the hair growing on the neck/nape.

Two length haircuts

Question: 

My question is with reference to haircut styles.

Is there any style prohibited in Hadith?

Recently I met a Hafez whos hair was cut two lengths, I asked him he replied that the prohibition in the hadith only refer to shaving part and leaving part unshaved.

Kindly advise


Answer: 

In the Hadeeth Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam has prohibited from Qaza’.

Women cutting hair

Question: 

1. Why is it not permissible for a woman to cut her hair? 

2. Is it permissible for a woman to get bangs on her hair? 


Answer: 

It is forbidden for women to cut their hair because of the following reasons:

1. Tashabbuh bil Kuffaar (imitation of the disbelievers) and Tashabbuh bin Nisaa il Faasiqaat (imitation of the evil women), Allah Ta'aala states in the Quraan-e-Kareem,

Women cutting hair

Question: 

If a woman has very long hair that it reaches her hip, will she be allowed to trim her hair? 


Answer: 

In the enquired case, she will not be allowed to trim her hair; however, if it lengthens and reaches below the buttocks and seems abnormal, she will be allowed to trim that part of the hair which is below her buttocks.i

Microblading

Question: 

Is microblading permissible to fill patches in one's eyebrows? 


Answer: 

Microblading is a tattooing technique in which the skin is pierced and semi-permanent pigment is added in to the skin. Tattooing according to Shariah is impermissible. It is narrated on the authority of Ibn Mas’ood (Radiallahu Anhu) that he said, “Allah’s curse is upon those who tattoo and upon those that have (their bodies) tattooed.”i

Compensating for Mistakes made during Umrah

Question: 

I would like to ask a few questions regarding my Umrah:

1. Once when it was windy, the Ihram cloth blew on my face for a couple of seconds. My wife was wearing a cap, but her scarf also blew on her face 2/3 times for a few seconds and she pushed it back. Do we need to give penalty?

2. I am not sure but I THINK I MAY have applied soap to my finger tips. I have a habit of doing that before Wudhu but I’m not sure whether I actually did it or not. I’m just having doubts regarding it. Do I need to give penalty?

Hair extensions

Question: 

Is it permissible for a woman to plait her hair with wool? 

Answer: 
A married woman should only have extensions plaited into her hair for medical reasons and with the permission of her husband. Also, it is not permissible to use human hair for this purpose. A halaal animal’s hair, wool and other Paak (pure/clean) items may be used as a treatment.
