Question: 

A person passed away and left behind the following: 

Wife

Daughter                  

Son                          

Son

Mother                             

Brother 1             

Brother 2 

So deceased left wife, 2 sons, 1 daughter, Mother and 2 brothers. How will his estate be distributed? 

Answer: 

After discharging the burial expenses, debts (if any), then from the residue execution of the Wasiyyah/bequest from 1/3 of the estate, the estate will be divided into 120 portions as follows:

Wife - 15 shares - 12.5%

Mother - 20 shares - 16.67%

Son - 34 shares - 28.33%

Son - 34 shares - 28.33%

Daughter - 17 shares - 14.17%

Brothers - Don’t inherit in this case

Total - 120 shares - 100%
