Question: 

A. Can
a person read a para for two separate khatams ? eg . A person in his personal khatam he is reading the 7th para and in a group
khatam he has been assigned the 7th para can he read the 7th para once with
both niyaat in mind ? 

B. Are
group monthly khatams allowed? 

Answer: 

a) Yes, you can one can have two intentions when reciting one Para such as reciting Surah Kahf on Friday when it also coincides with one’s routine tilaawat of the Quran.i

b) Regarding monthly group Khatams, one should avoid such practices as there is no basis of this in Shariah. Rather encourage that each person completes his own Khatam. Special virtues have been narrated for doing one’s own Khatam.
