Question:
Is it permissible for a non-Sayyid to get married to a Sayyid?
Answer:
If a Sayyad man wants to marry a non Sayyad lady, it will be permissible. If it is the other way round, the consent of her Wali is necessary. (Fataawa Mahmudiyyah Vol. 11 Pg. 618-626)
